Jacobi shape transition in stable Ti isotopes

G. Vijayakumari, V. Ramasubramanian

Abstract

The structural changes in Ti nuclei at values of the angular momentum which are relatively low and below the fission limit are studied. In this work finite temperature cranked Nilsson-Strutinsky calculations with tuning to fixed spin is adopted. The study shows that all the Ti isotopes considered here are good candidates for detecting Jacobi shapes.

Key words: Jacobi shape transition, Nuclear shapes, Rotating nuclei, Giant dipole resonance.
