Prevalence and Variation of Focusing Disabilities among Patients in the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), Nigeria.

Abstract
An in-depth study was carried out to determine the prevalence and variation of focusing disabilities (presbyopia), low vision and reduced vision among patients in JUTH. Out of 808 eyes examined, it was observed that 354 (43.8%) had presbyopia. Further analysis revealed that the prevalence and variation of presbyopia increased with age. The mean presbyopic error was found to be add +1.81D 0.26. 116 (14.4%) reduced vision eyes and 50 (6.2%) low vision eyes were also found.
